Terms of Use for Lume

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Lume (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Lume.

Lume is operated by RIPPPL LLC, doing business as Hibba Ventures (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

Eligibility

To use Lume, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms (if you are between 13 and 17, you must have permission from a parent or guardian)
  • Provide accurate information when creating an account or profile
  • Comply with all applicable laws

What Lume Does

Lume is a cosmetic skin and feature analysis app that uses artificial intelligence to provide information about your visible appearance based on photos you take. Lume offers:

  • Photo-based AI analysis of skin clarity, texture, brightness, tone, and feature areas
  • A personalized 30-day cosmetic improvement protocol
  • Weekly re-scan capability to track progress
  • Insights based on your scan results and profile

What Lume Is NOT

Lume is not a medical device or medical service. Lume does not:

  • Diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition
  • Provide medical advice
  • Replace consultation with licensed dermatologists, doctors, or aestheticians
  • Identify or diagnose skin conditions like acne, rosacea, eczema, or any other medical condition

If you have any health concerns, skin conditions, or are considering changes to your skincare routine for medical reasons, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Subscription Terms

Pricing

Lume offers the following subscriptions (prices may vary by region):

  • Yearly: $49.99 per year
  • Weekly: $9.99 per week

Prices are billed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated.

Auto-Renewal

Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your iOS device’s Settings:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Lume
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access until then.

Refunds

All purchases are managed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly. To request a refund:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Select Lume
  4. Request a refund

Refund decisions are made by Apple, not by us.

Photo and Content Use

When you use Lume’s scan feature, you:

  • Grant Lume permission to access your camera
  • Authorize the temporary use of your photos for AI analysis
  • Retain all ownership rights to your photos
  • Acknowledge that photos are stored on your device only

You agree not to:

  • Submit photos that are not of yourself unless you have permission
  • Submit photos that contain illegal content
  • Misuse the scan feature in ways that violate these Terms

Accuracy and Limitations

Lume’s AI analysis provides estimates based on visible characteristics in your photos. Results are:

  • Based on AI models that may have errors or biases
  • Affected by lighting, photo quality, angle, and other factors
  • Not guarantees of accuracy
  • For cosmetic, informational, and entertainment purposes only

You acknowledge that:

  • Your actual appearance may differ from analysis results
  • Scores and recommendations are subjective and approximate
  • Lume’s recommendations should not be your sole source of skincare or beauty guidance
  • Individual results from following recommendations vary

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Lume for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from Lume
  • Use automated tools to interact with Lume
  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Attempt to bypass payment or access subscription features without paying
  • Use Lume to harm, harass, or impersonate others
  • Use Lume in ways that violate Apple’s App Store Terms

Intellectual Property

Lume, including its design, code, content, branding, and all related materials, is the property of RIPPPL LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

You retain ownership of your photos and any content you create.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Lume is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • Lume will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • Results from using Lume will meet your expectations
  • Lume is free from viruses or harmful components

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RIPPPL LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Damages arising from your use of Lume
  • Damages arising from inaccuracies in Lume’s analysis or recommendations

In any case, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for Lume subscriptions in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RIPPPL LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of Lume
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Lume at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • At our sole discretion

You may terminate your use of Lume at any time by deleting the App from your device. Termination does not entitle you to a refund.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by posting an updated version on this page. Your continued use of Lume after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Lume will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
