Privacy Policy for Ippo

Introduction

Welcome to Ippo (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by RIPPPL LLC, doing business as Hibba Ventures. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Ippo iOS application (“Ippo” or “the App”).

Ippo is an app for learning Japanese — hiragana, katakana, vocabulary and kanji — with spaced-repetition reviews and Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets.

By using Ippo, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Ippo.

Information We Collect

No Account Required

Ippo has no sign-up or login. We do not collect your name, email address, or a password in the App.

Your Learning Data

On Your Device: Your lesson progress, review history, settings, and streaks are stored on your device.

iCloud Sync: If you are signed in to iCloud, this learning data syncs through Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) private database. That database belongs to your iCloud account, and we cannot access it.

Widgets: The data shown in Ippo’s widgets is stored in a shared container on your device so the widgets can display it.

Information Collected Through Third-Party Services

Usage Data: We collect app usage events through Mixpanel, such as:

• Onboarding completed
• Lessons and reviews completed
• Free trial and subscription events

Device and App Information: Along with these events, we collect device and app information. This information is not linked to your name or email address.

Install Information: We collect device and install information through AppsFlyer to measure which ads lead to installs. See “Install Attribution and Tracking” below.

Subscription Information: Your subscription and purchase status, and your interactions with our paywall, are handled through Superwall, our paywall and subscription management platform.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Run the App, including your lessons, reviews, streaks, and widgets
• Understand how the App is used so we can improve it
• Measure how well our marketing works
• Manage your subscription and access to Ippo Pro

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads in the App.

Install Attribution and Tracking

We use AppsFlyer to measure which ads lead to installs of Ippo. AppsFlyer receives device and install information.

Advertising Identifier (IDFA): Your device’s advertising identifier is only collected if you allow tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Declining does not affect how the App works. You can change this choice at any time in your iOS Settings.

SKAdNetwork: We also use Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which lets us measure ad performance.

Notifications

Ippo can send optional local reminders, such as daily study reminders and free trial reminders. These reminders are scheduled on your device. You can turn them on or off in the App’s Settings and in your iOS Settings.

Third-Party Services

Ippo uses the following third-party services to operate:

Mixpanel: Provides product analytics. See mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

AppsFlyer: Provides install attribution. See appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Superwall: Manages our paywall and subscription status. See superwall.com/privacy.

Apple: Handles all payments, subscriptions, and refunds, and provides iCloud sync. We never receive your payment card details. See apple.com/legal/privacy.

Deleting Your Data

• Delete all my data: In the App, go to Settings → “Delete all my data” to erase your learning data on your device and in iCloud.
• Deleting the App: Deleting Ippo removes the data stored locally on your device.
• Analytics data: To request deletion of analytics data, email privacy@hibbaventures.com.

Your Rights

EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing
• Data portability
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected
• Request deletion of personal information
• Opt-out of sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information)

Children’s Privacy

Ippo is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@hibbaventures.com.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

• Your learning data is stored on your device with iOS system-level protections
• If you use iCloud, your learning data is kept in your own iCloud private database, which we cannot access
• We do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords in the App

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

If you use Ippo from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where we and our service providers are located. By using Ippo, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of Ippo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
