Terms of Use for Ippo

Agreement to Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Ippo (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Ippo.

Ippo is operated by RIPPPL LLC, doing business as Hibba Ventures (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

Eligibility

To use Ippo, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms (if you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian)
  • Comply with all applicable laws

What Ippo Provides

Ippo provides educational content for learning Japanese, including hiragana, katakana, vocabulary, and kanji, with spaced-repetition reviews.

We do not guarantee any particular learning result, fluency level, or exam score. How much you learn depends on many factors, including how you use the App.

Free and Paid Features

Ippo offers a free tier and a paid subscription, Ippo Pro. The features included in each tier may change over time.

Subscription Terms

Ippo Pro

Ippo Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, available as:

  • A yearly plan
  • A monthly plan

Prices are shown in the App before you purchase and may vary by region.

Free Trial

The yearly plan includes a free trial for eligible new users. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and payment is charged at the end of the trial.

Payment and Auto-Renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you started one. Your subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Managing and Cancelling

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Ippo
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access until then.

Refunds

All purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

Third-Party Content

Ippo uses dictionary and stroke-order data made available under open licenses:

  • JMdict and KANJIDIC2, from the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group
  • KanjiVG
  • Tatoeba

These sources are credited on the Credits page in the App. These Terms do not change or limit the licenses that apply to that data.

Apple’s End User License Agreement

Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies to your use of Ippo alongside these Terms. You can read it at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Ippo for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from Ippo
  • Use automated tools to interact with Ippo
  • Attempt to bypass payment or access subscription features without paying
  • Use Ippo in ways that violate Apple’s App Store Terms

Intellectual Property

Ippo, including its design, code, original content, branding, and related materials, is the property of RIPPPL LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Third-party content described above remains subject to its own licenses.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Ippo is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • Ippo will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The content in Ippo is complete or free of errors
  • Results from using Ippo will meet your expectations

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RIPPPL LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Damages arising from your use of Ippo

In any case, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for Ippo subscriptions in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Ippo at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • At our sole discretion

You may stop using Ippo at any time by deleting the App from your device. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription, and termination does not entitle you to a refund.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by posting an updated version on this page. Your continued use of Ippo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
